Andrew Biar
Andrew founded Strategic Public Affairs® in 2000. Drawing on more than a quarter of a century of experience in government, communications/media, business and politics, The Firm provides lobbying, government relations, communications counsel, media relations/PR, stakeholder outreach, and community relations to businesses in key sectors of the economy including maritime, oil & gas, midstream, utilities, healthcare, automotive, home building, finance and more. This includes providing project management as well as strategic counsel and consulting work to Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, private corporations and trade associations. He oversees the continued advancement of The Firm and managing key client relationships.
Prior to forming the firm, Andrew worked at one of the top statewide business trade associations, Texas Association of Business and at Staats Falkenberg & Partners, an Austin public affairs/PR firm. He also worked for elected officials at the county level such as Bexar County Judge Cyndi Taylor Krier, as well as in the Texas Capitol for Texas House Representative Frank Corte and in the Texas Senate for Texas Lt. Governor Bob Bullock.
For 15 years Andrew was a licensed, professional NASCAR pit crew member: Cup, Grand National, Truck and ARCA Series. He worked at some of the most legendary stock car and dirt tracks including the Daytona International Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Talladega Super Speedway, Martinsville Speedway, Richmond Speedway, Atlanta Speedway, Pocono Raceway, Darlington Raceway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, 5 Flags Speedway, Knoxville Raceway (Iowa) and El Dora Speedway. Some of the iconic races he has worked include the Daytona 500, Gatorade Duals (Daytona) Coca-Cola 600 (Charlotte), Southern 500 (Darlington), Brickyard 400 (Indianapolis), Snowball Derby, and the Wieland Winter Nationals with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and East Bay Raceway Park. Today his racing passion focuses on working with family owned, multi-generation teams at regional stock car tracks across the southeast.
Andrew earned his B.A. in Communications from Concordia University, Austin, Texas and he is an alumnus of the state’s premier leadership group, the Texas Lyceum.
A few of my favorite things: stock car racing crew gig, college football, being in the outdoors hunting and fishing, time with family, learning how to make great craft cocktails and collecting and tasting American whiskeys and bourbons. And yes, they are meant to be enjoyed and build memories with family and friends and not sit on a shelf.
