Andrew Biar
Andrew founded Strategic Public Affairs® in 2000. Drawing on more than a quarter of a century of experience in government, communications/media, business and politics, he and the firm provide lobbying, government relations, communications counsel, media relations/PR, stakeholder outreach, and community relations to businesses in key sectors of the economy including oil & gas, midstream, utilities, healthcare, automotive, home building, finance and more. This includes providing project management as well as strategic counsel and consulting work to Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, private corporations and trade associations. He oversees the continued advancement of the firm, ensuring professional growth opportunities for the firm’s team members and managing key client relationships.
Prior to forming the firm, Andrew worked at one of the top statewide business trade associations, Texas Association of Business and at Staats Falkenberg & Partners, an Austin public affairs/PR firm. He also worked for elected officials at the county level such as Bexar County Judge Cyndi Taylor Krier, as well as in the Texas Capitol for Texas House Representative Frank Corte and in the Texas Senate for Texas Lt. Governor Bob Bullock.
Andrew is an alumnus of the state’s premier leadership group, the Texas Lyceum. He is a passionate hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoys hunting birds, deer, and many other forms of game. He is also passionate about racing. Andrew is a licensed, professional NASCAR pit crew member in the sanctioning body’s three top series: Monster Energy Cup, Xfinity, and Camping World Truck Series.
Andrew earned his B.A. in Communications from Concordia University, Austin, Texas. A few of my favorite things: NASCAR pit crew gig, college football, being in the outdoors hunting and fishing, time with family and learning how to make great craft cocktails.
