James A. Tramuto
James (Jim) A. Tramuto is Senior Counselor with Strategic Public Affairs®. He has extensive knowledge of and experience in the energy industry. His career included a variety of high-ranking roles. He served as the Vice President of Governmental and Regulatory Strategies at Southwestern Energy for seven years. Prior to that he served as Vice President of Federal Government Relations for PG&E Corp. in Washington, D.C. as well as Vice President of External Affairs for PG&E’s National Energy Group.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Tramuto was President of TECO Gas Marketing and President and CEO of Polaris Pipeline. He also held a number of executive, legal and governmental affairs positions at United Gas Pipeline Company. Mr. Tramuto’s experience includes serving on a number of energy committees in Washington, D.C., Texas and Arizona, including several appointments by former Texas Governor George W. Bush and former Texas Governor Rick Perry. He is currently a board member of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC). He has served as a member of The Texas A&M University Business School Finance Advisory Board and was a past board member of The Energy Council.
Before retiring from Southwestern Energy, Mr. Tramuto was involved with America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA), serving as Chairman of the State Affairs Committee, and with the Natural Gas Supply Association (NGSA) serving on a number of committees. He also served on the Board of Directors of The Texas Alliance of Energy Producers.
Mr. Tramuto earned a Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Texas A&M University. He has also attended the Executive Development Program at the Harvard Business School.
